COVID 19 Update 7/8/20

Stay Small & Stay Safe...

As we approach the fall semester here in Blacksburg, we are seeing an increase in travel and businesses continue to open and adjust their protocols. At Clay Corner Inn your safety is our number one concern and we continuously work hard to keep our guests and staff safe. We want you to be able to enjoy your visit worry and stress free.

1) We are serving breakfast. We have expanded our dining service areas to allow for social distancing while continuing to maintain our quality breakfast offerings you’re accustomed to. We offer room delivery, boxed breakfast to go, and several other dining locations around the property, including outdoor options. We utilize a contactless online ordering system to easily submit breakfast orders.

2) Hassle-free, contactless check-in is the norm for us here at Clay Corner Inn. As always, you will receive a text message with arrival instructions on the morning of your reservation. Once your room is ready, your door code will be activated, and you may arrive at your leisure and head directly to your room.

3) We ensure that guest rooms and common areas are always well stocked with soap and hand sanitizer for your convenience.

4) Sanitizing common areas throughout the day and bleach in our laundry process are some additional practices we use to keep everyone safe during their stay.

Your safety is our priority and responsibility. We promise to continue our efforts daily so that you are able to enjoy your trip to Blacksburg stress-free. Our small lodging environment offers the amenities of a hotel with the feel and comforts of home. We are always available if you have any questions or concerns.

Featured Restaurant of the Week

We are located in the oldest house, circa 1892, on Main Street within the town’s original Sixteen Squares. When this home was built Main Street was a dirt road where horses pulled wagons and picket fences kept milk cows from roaming. Virginia Tech was then known as Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College with a total student enrollment of 135.
We offer a traditional regional farmer’s menu, much like the original family who lived in this house would have prepared: chicken, beef, ham, vegetables, biscuits, apple butter, ice cream, cobbler, as well as a full bar with beer, wine, and mixed drinks. The Blacksburg Tavern showcases Appalachian and other music with live performances whenever possible.

We want to feature our favorite restaurants to recommend and plan to have a new one each week. These are locally owned and strive to offer the best service and product. We highly recoomend each of these that we will feature.

COVID-19 Coronavirus 4/1/20 Updates

Keeping you safe...

We are making changes and adapting to the ever changing enviroment we all currently live in. High standards of cleaning and santization is a staple here at Clay Corner Inn and we are making additional efforts to keep guests and staff safe. Some of the measures that are continuing to evolve are:

1) We have moved to a delivery only breakfast. We still utilize our breakfast order form with several delicious choices. The only difference is we deliver directly to the guest rooms at specified times instead of communal dining to encourage social distancing.

2)  We have implemented a 2-night separation for room reservations – To the best of our ability, we will keep a two-night separation between guest checkout and guest check-in for each of our rooms. This will allow a 48hr period for thorough sanitation.

3) Each guest bathroom and common area is stocked with plenty of soap and hand sanitizer for guest use.

4) We are sanitizing common areas, keypads, and other often touched surfaces multiple times daily.

As we stated earlier, the health, wellbeing and safety of our guests and staff are of paramount importance to us. In order to keep our guests as safe as possible, we will continue to monitor the latest developments relating to the Coronavirus issued by federal, state, local and community leaders, and implement all necessary measures to maintain your safety while visiting us.

We are taking the COVID-19 threat very seriously and want to communicate our efforts and intentions as guest safety and security is always our number one priority. Clay Corner Inn has always maintained the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation. In addition to our daily room and common space cleaning, we are ensuring all surfaces are being disinfected multiple times a day.
